CHP Investigating Fatality This Evening On Hwy 17

The California Highway Patrol is responding to a fatality on state Highway 17 north of Santa Cruz this evening.

Officers responded to an incident on northbound Highway 17 at the Pasatiempo off-ramp around 6:30 p.m., CHP officials said.

Investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding the death, according to the CHP.

One person was alone in a car and was determined to be dead at the scene, CHP officials said.
