City Council Preview: Rent Control Vote Finally Coming?
The repeal of rent control could finally get its second reading at Thursday's meeting of the Capitola City Council.

It has been months since the first reading of the repeal of rent control, but a second and final vote could rid Capitola of the regulation for good at Thurday's city council meeting.
Residents of Surf and Sand Mobile Home Park have reached a settlement agreement with park owner Rod Reed in the law suit concerning fair rent rates. With the settlement, the second reading could occur at Thursday's meeting or at the next meeting in two weeks. Per the fine print of the settlement, residents are not expected to attend the meeting to contest the vote.
Check back later for further details of the settlement.
