City Council Rewind: Skateboard Victim's Granddaughter Speaks

Nine days after her grandmother was , Charlotte Achen attended the Capitola City Council meeting on Thursday.

Here's what she had to say:

“I have spoken to many people, and most had no idea that it was illegal to skateboard in Capitola Village. As the community has come together in shock of this accident, they could also come together to find creative ways to promote this law. With more awareness and enforcement, I believe accidents like this can be avoided in the future.”

Achen is also the president of the Cabrillo College Student Senate.
