Cops Hunting Hit-And-Run Driver Who Struck Woman, 60, In Santa Cruz Co. Crosswalk

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA – Police released photos today of a suspect car in a hit-and-run collision earlier this month in Watsonville that left a 60-year-old woman in critical condition.

The collision happened on Sept. 3 at East Lake and Palm avenues at about 10:20 p.m., when the woman was in a crosswalk and struck by a car that didn't stop at the intersection, police said.

The suspect driver briefly exited the car, saw the injured victim and drove away, according to police.

The woman was transported to a Bay Area trauma center where she is in critical condition as of this morning, police said.

The vehicle was described as a white Ford Windstar or similar car with a right rear taillight or brake light that may not be working, according to police.

Officers investigating the collision obtained video footage taken of the car leaving the area, police said.
