Double Arrest In Santa Cruz Shooting That Injured One
Both were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and other charges.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA - Two people were arrested in connection with a suspected gang-related shooting Wednesday in Santa Cruz that left a man injured and a stray bullet lodged in an occupied home, police said today.
Misael Acosta-Vences, 20, is believed to be the shooter and Jocelyn Acosta is an alleged accessory to the crime, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting on Berry Street near Avalon Street around 10:30 p.m., police said.

The victim, a 20-year-old Santa Cruz man, was struck in the arm and transported to a Bay Area trauma center for an injury that was not considered life-threatening, police said.
Responding officers recovered multiple bullets, including one that lodged into a wall at an occupied home where no one was injured, according to police.

Detectives found the two suspects around 3 a.m. today by an apartment complex in the 200 block of Button Street, roughly a block away from where the shooting was reported, police said.
Both suspects, who are Santa Cruz residents, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling, according to police. Acosta-Vences was also taken into custody on multiple gang enhancements and Acosta is additionally suspected of participating in a criminal street gang, police said.
There are no other suspects in the case, according to police.
