Drug Rehab Counselor Arrested for Heroin Possession

In today's edition of the Irony Files, we bring you the story of Kristin Dempsey, the 33-year-old drug counselor arrested for heroin possession on Wednesday.

At 3 p.m., Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office deputies searched Dempsey's residence on the 3400 block of Kenilworth Lane just off Soquel Drive near Dominican Hospital as part of an ongoing investigation into drug sales out of the home.

According to a statement from the sheriff's office, Dempsey was found in the home with "6.7 grams of heroin, packaging materials, cash and other items related to the sale of heroin."

She was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on possession charges.
