The mystery that is October is upon us. This is the perfect month to read the stories and poetry of Edgar Allan Poe together. Get in the mood for Poe at a launch party on Saturday, October 1 from 1:30-3:00pm at the Loudon Nelson Community Center.
Mystery writer, Laurie R. King, and Santa Cruz County Poet Laureate, Gary Young, will reflect on Poe’s writing. Brent Gifford, a local magician, will talk about the psychology of Poe, and John Moir, author of The Return of the Condor, will share the way Poe wrote about birds in his work.
Learn about opportunities to join discussion groups and participate in a writing contest.
Everyone is invited to this free event. So, what is your favorite piece of Poe?
