Gang Member On Probation Arrested In Santa Cruz County

The man allegedly gave deputies the wrong name when he was stopped near a busy gas station this week.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Santa Cruz County man on probation was arrested on Soquel Drive this week, sheriff’s office officials said. Stephen Simmons, who is a documented gang member, allegedly gave the wrong name to deputies when he was stopped near a gas station.

After he was searched, he was arrested on suspicion of possessing a concealed knife, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, authorities said. Simmons was booked into county jail. No other information is available.
