Great White Shark Spotted at Rio Del Mar Beach

The shark is 14-feet long and isn't thought to be aggressive.

Rangers spotted a 14-foot great white shark at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday at Rio Del Mar Beach near Seascape in Aptos, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office told Patch.

Deputy April Skalland said the shark, which was just 20 yards out, was not acting aggressively. 

However, the Sheriff's Office is still cautioning against swimming, surfing and other water activities.
