Man Shot After Allegedly Trying To Break Into Aptos Home
The shooting on Cedar Street occurred around 3:38 a.m. Thursday.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A man who was allegedly trying to break into a home early Thursday morning in Aptos was shot by the resident, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department is reporting.
At approximately 3:38 a.m., the sheriff's office went to the home on Cedar Street after receiving a 911 call about the alleged attempted break-in. When deputies arrived, they discovered the man had been shot several times by the resident, the sheriff's office reported.
Deputies rendered aid to the man before he was taken to a Bay Area trauma center; he is expected to survive, according to the sheriff's office.

The immediate investigation showed there was no prior relationship between the man and the resident, the sheriff's office reported.
