Man Shot, Killed Tuesday ID'd as Jesus Rocha

Rocha was shot multiple times shortly before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Jefferson Street and Palm Avenue.

A man fatally shot Tuesday morning in Watsonville was identified Thursday as 33-year-old Jesus Rocha, police said.

Rocha was shot multiple times shortly before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Jefferson Street and Palm Avenue, police said.

Arriving officers found Rocha, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Rocha was a Watsonville resident and was known to police.

Police have released photos of two persons of interest in the case, 29-year-old Damian Baxter and 30-year-old Rachelle Vasquez, police said.

Baxter is described as a black man standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing around 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, according to police.

Baxter has a pre-existing injury to one leg and may be using crutches, police said.

The 29-year-old has a felony warrant for illegally possessing ammunition unrelated to the murder, police said.

Vasquez is described as a Hispanic woman standing about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 110 pounds with blond hair and brown eyes, according to police.
