New Leaf’s Partnership with Ventana Surfboards & Supplies Supports Ocean Conservation
Just a few blocks from the Pleasure Point surf break, the Capitola New Leaf Community Market is now carrying environmentally responsible apparel and surf supplies by the Santa Cruz company Ventana Surfboards and Supplies. Wool beanies, shirts, sweatshirts, as well as surf wax and leashes are on display just inside the front door. New Leaf’s Partnership with Ventana Surfboards & Supplies supports ocean conservation; Ventana donates at least 5% of annual profits to the ocean conservation efforts of Save Our Shores, Surfrider Foundation Santa Cruz, Save the Waves Coalition and the Seymour Marine Discovery Center.
Ventana’s apparel is made of recycled and organic materials and screen-printed in Santa Cruz. 100% of the screen-printing profits are donated to Barrios Unidos, a Santa Cruz youth violence prevention organization dedicated to providing alternatives to at-risk youth and re-entry opportunities to former prisoners.
