Probation Search of Home Nets 5 Arrests

The Harper Street house was a longtime problem for the neighborhood.

Sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday conducted a probation search of a residence in unincorporated Santa Cruz, netting five arrests for stolen property possession, drug paraphernalia possession, and controlled substance intoxication, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

Numerous neighborhood complaints surfaced about a residence in the 1400 block of Harper Street, causing police to conduct a probation search of the property at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Santa Cruz County sheriff’s Sgt. Kelly Kent said.

Neighbors of the residence had submitted numerous complaints about loud noise and late night foot traffic, Kent said. Five individuals were found at the property and arrested for various offences, according to Kent.
