The Liberty Bank on Highway 9 was held up at gunpoint on Monday.

Deputies are looking for a man who robbed a bank in Felton on Monday afternoon, a Santa Cruz County sheriff’s spokesman said.

Deputies were called to a reported armed robbery in progress at Liberty Bank, located at 6230 state Highway 9 around 1:30 p.m., sheriff’s Lt. Kelly Kent said. The suspect, armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, entered the bank and forced two customers and four employees into a vault, Kent said.

He took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot behind the bank toward Felton Covered Bridge Park, according to Kent.
