Save The Date: National Night Out 2018 In Capitola
This year's event includes a free BBQ and a petting zoo at Jade Street Park.

CAPITOLA, CA – The Capitola Police Department is hosting this year's National Night Out, the annual evening to promote police partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jade Street Park in Capitola.
Millions of neighbors in thousands of communities across the U.S. take part in National Night Out, started in 1984, on the first Tuesday in August with such events as block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and often including safety demonstrations and visits from emergency personnel.
Capitola's event will include a meet-and-greet with the chief of police, a free barbecue, a petting zoo, an "astro jumper," climbing wall, crafts for the kids, police, ambulance and fire vehicles, plus K-9 demonstrations.
