Taco Bell Workers 'Too Busy' to Report Bathroom Fight

Monday night at Taco Bell on 41st Avenue ended less than ideally thanks to a group of teenage girls who chose to rip off the stall door in the girls' restroom.

A sheriff's deputy responded to a call at 2:43 a.m. Tuesday from a Taco Bell employee in Soquel, who reported that at 10:45 p.m. on Monday, five or six light-skinned Hispanic girls came into the business.

"They appeared to be about 16-years-old," Sheriff's Deputy April Skalland said. "They ordered stuff and went into the bathroom. A few minutes passed and the worker and her boss heard a bunch of loud banging sounds coming from the bathroom and didn't know what the sound was."

The worker asked her boss if they should call 911, but according to Skalland, the boss said "Don't call, we're too busy."

Shortly thereafter, the girls exited the bathroom and left the building. They were followed by another Hispanic teenage female who was crying and holding her face. Skalland said the worker suspected she had been beaten up, but did not ask her. Later, when she went into the bathroom, the worker saw the stall door had been ripped completely off. According to Skalland, damages are estimated at $300.

The worker apologized to the deputy for waiting four hours to report the incident. The victim of the suspected battery never reported the incident to authorities.
