Tire Amnesty Program Returns To Santa Cruz County
Under the program, residents can bring up to five tires per day, with fees waived on passenger car and light truck tires under 36 inches.

From Santa Cruz County: From April 14-21, various sites around Santa Cruz County will accept tires at no charge under a Tire Amnesty Program to help reduce environmental impacts, illegal dumping and the spread of infectious diseases.
Under the program, residents can bring up to five (5) tires per day, with fees waived on passenger car and light truck tires under 36 inches in diameter. Tires on rims will be accepted. Waste tires from businesses are not eligible for the Tire Amnesty Program. Tires will be collected at the following sites from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., except as noted. Sites are closed Sundays.

Santa Cruz County Department of Public Works and Santa Cruz County Mosquito and Vector Control, along with the Cities of Santa Cruz and Watsonville, are joining forces to offer the Tire Amnesty Program, which is supported by a State grant from CalRecycle to reduce soil contamination, mosquito breeding sites, and fire hazards associated with improperly stored or discarded tires.
