Triple Break-In Suspect Arrested For Home Burglaries In Soquel, La Selva Beach
Among his reported hauls: a ventriloquist doll, according to deputies.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA – A Salinas man suspected of taking a ventriloquist doll and other property from three homes in Santa Cruz County between mid-September and earlier this month was arrested Wednesday, sheriff's officials said Friday.
Javier Vasquez, 29, was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary and identity theft, sheriff's Sgt. Chris Clark said.
Vasquez allegedly committed three home burglaries where he took a ventriloquist doll and electronic items, Clark said.

The 29-year-old man is also suspected of stealing credit cards that he used at multiple businesses, according to Clark.
Two of the burglaries were in La Selva Beach on Sept. 12 in the 300 block of Mar Monte Avenue and Oct. 5 in the 100 block of Altivo Avenue, the sergeant said.

The other burglary was on Sept. 20 in the 2600 block of Orchard Street in Soquel, according to Clark.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives learned that a 2005 silver Honda Civic was seen when the burglaries occurred and in video footage from surveillance systems, Clark said.
Vasquez was identified as a suspect and a warrant was obtained for his arrest, according to Clark.
Vasquez was taken into custody Wednesday at Ohlone Parkway in Watsonville and booked into county jail, Clark said.
