Truck Stolen from Soquel Ave. Auto Shop

A 2005 Chevrolet truck was snatched from Pearce European and Japanese Auto Service early Sunday morning, but surveillance footage from the business could help identify the perpetrator. 

According to Courtney Immel, who owns the business, a man on a motorcycle appeared to be "casing the building" Friday night. His presence outside the business, located at 7000 Soquel Ave., just off of 41st Avenue, set off the motion detector and security alarm.

On Sunday morning, Immel said the alarm went off once again, and she went to the business to find the front glass door broken and the truck stolen.

"The guy threw a cement block through the glass door and was able to gain entrance and open the garage roll-up doors with the electric opener. All he had time to steal was the truck," Immel said in an email to Patch. "This guy was pretty thorough because he was in and out within a matter of seconds. And he managed to do it during shift change for the sheriff, which delayed the response time by about 20 minutes."

The glass door has already been fixed, but the store is certainly still lacking without its truck.
