CARLSBAD, CA — The colorful flowers at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch will stay open to the public a little longer this year.
The 2026 season was set to end on Mother's Day but will now run through Sunday, May 17, the ranch announced Monday.
The Flower Fields feature 55 acres of of giant tecolote ranunculus, a flower known for its large, double-petaled blooms that sit atop tall, straight stems. As of Wednesday, more than 15 acres remain in bloom.
The ranch's team described the extended season as "an unexpected encore" on social media.
"Two fields are still showing beautiful color, and the lower gardens remain vibrant," a spokesperson told Patch.
Other attractions including the American Flag of Flowers, butterfly encounter, tractor rides, sweet pea maze, poinsettia display, Carlsbad Mining Company, and Santa's Playground remain open.
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Extended season tickets are now on sale. Discounted tickets cost $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, and $7 for children ages 3-10. Admission is free for children under 3.
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is located at 5704 Paseo Del Norte in Carlsbad.
