CARLSBAD, CA — The Carlsbad City Council meets Tuesday at City Council Chambers to go over issues related to the next fiscal year, agreements with the water authority on groundbreaking and city events, and special taxes planned in District 1.
During the Tuesday, June 16, council meeting, your representatives will review the consent calendar items, which will not be discussed but will be enacted by one motion. Councilmembers are expected to approve an agreement with the County of San Diego for participation in the California Identification System Remote Access Network.
The council are also expected to adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager or designee to execute an agreement with the County of San Diego for participation in San Diego County’s California Identification System Remote Access Network.
Another consent calendar item will be to accept the annual report confirming that the Fire Department has completed all of its state-mandated annual fire inspections for fiscal year 2024-25.
They will also decide whether to grant the City Manager the authority to execute agreements with the San Diego County Water Authority for city ceremonial events on property not controlled or owned by the city, such as the upcoming Veterans Memorial Groundbreaking ceremony.
Finally, they will decide whether to consent to an adjustment to the special tax on properties in Community Facilities District No. 1, which helps fund certain city projects and facilities. The tax is adjusted each year based on an inflation index.
Other items include a new ordinance to update the city's regulations on local massage businesses and the adoption of the fiscal year 2026-27 city budget.
