Photographing the Red Tide at South Ponto Beach

Students from San Dieguito Academy's Photography Club met up at South Ponto State Beach this past Friday to capture the sunset and the red tide.

When Bioluminescent Plankton are agitated, the give off a blueish glow in the water. Because the camera has the ability the capture the glow, the pictures are an accurate representation of what the ocean looks like at night.

In all, about 10 members including the Photography teacher at SDA showed up to take part in the shoot.
