The City of Carlsbad has opened summer registration for weekday and weekend swimming lessons designed for community members of all skill levels,

The City of Carlsbad has opened summer registration for weekday and weekend swimming lessons designed for community members of all skill levels, ranging from fundamentals for first timers to perfecting the stroke of seasoned swimmers.
Summer sessions begin on June 17, and run Monday through Friday for every two weeks through Aug. 23. Classes are 30 minutes long, and are held at the Monroe Street Pool, 3401 Monroe St.

Parent Infant/Tot Aquatics, which allow parents to help their infants and toddlers adjust to being in the water, as well as to learn skills like underwater exploration, wearing a life jacket, and combining arm and leg movement when swimming.
Class levels 1 through 4, which are designed for swimmers of all ages, from those just beginning to swim to the more experienced. Classes focus on a variety of skills, including stroke development and improvement.

Springboard Diving, designed for swimmers who have passed Level 3 and want to learn the fundamentals of diving.
Individualized Swimming lessons are an ideal option for those who want one-on-one attention to master their swimming skills. Lessons can be set up daily at various times throughout the week and weekend.
Costs are:
Ten weekday sessions: $50 resident/ $70 non-resident
Five weekend sessions: $25 resident/ $35 non-resident
Individual lessons: $25 resident/ $35 non-resident per class
“Lessons at the city pool are an affordable way for Carlsbad families to stay active, teach their children water safety and have fun,” said Carl Pope, aquatics supervisor for the City of Carlsbad. “We look forward to seeing both new and familiar faces out at the pool this summer!”
