Lagoona Kahuna Cleanup Challenge

Event Details

California Watersports, 4215 Harrison St, Carlsbad, CA, 92008

Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation’s (AHLF) Lagoona Kahuna Cleanup Challenge for corporate participants will be Friday, May 1, 2026, at California Watersports, 4215 Harrison Street, Carlsbad.  Large and small businesses and nonprofits can participate from either 9 a.m. to noon or 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  California Watersports is the venue sponsor.

The Lagoona Kahuna Cleanup Challenge is an environmentally friendly initiative where competing teams from corporations, small businesses and nonprofits participate to win points for trash collected, weeds and invasive species removed and their efforts at competitive games. Teams with the most points win the titles of Big or Little Kahuna and receive a “Big” or “Little Kahuna” paddle to display in their office or place of work for the next year.

The cleanup challenge takes place via kayak, paddle board or on the shoreline. Every team member receives a logoed T-shirt and will be treated to pizza and beer from Pizza Port and ice cream from Handel’s, the food sponsors for the event.

Proceeds will benefit AHLF’s award-winning environmental educational program serving 12 school districts across the county. The event also impacts The Discovery Campus, a teaching hub where 62,000 guests interact annually.

Registration costs are $2,500 for Big Kahuna companies with 15 or more participants; $1,500 for Little Kahuna companies with 10 or less participants and $1,000 for nonprofits.
