Jefferson Elementary School will welcome families, alumni, and community members to its Annual Multicultural Festival on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on campus in Carlsbad Village.
The free event is one of the school’s longest-standing traditions, dating back to the 1970s, and serves as a major fundraiser for the Title I International Baccalaureate (IB) school’s programs.
Designed as a celebration of global cultures and community connection, the festival features live student performances, food trucks, games, cultural activities, community vendors, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.
Performances will include choir, mariachi, folklórico dance, Polynesian dance, percussion and ukulele ensembles, ASL Club participation, martial arts demonstrations, and grade-level student showcases from TK through 5th grade.
Families can also enjoy:
- Mini golf and lawn games
- Face painting and henna
- Food trucks and local vendors
- Silent auction and community booths
- Activities and prizes for kids
Food vendors will feature pizza, tacos, Thai food, teriyaki, ice cream, cotton candy, and more.
“This event reflects the heart of Jefferson—our students, families, and community coming together to celebrate culture, creativity, and connection,” organizers said.
Admission is free and open to the community. Tickets for games and activities will be available for purchase at the event.
Jefferson Elementary School is located at:
3743 Jefferson Street, Carlsbad, CA
The festival continues to draw current families, alumni, former staff, and community members each year as part of a growing Jefferson reunion tradition.
