At the May 26th luncheon meeting, the Carlsbad Republican Women Federated (CRWF) club is pleased to welcome three key 2026 candidates running for county and local office: Melanie Burkholder, candidate for Carlsbad City Council; Nicole D’Ambrogi, candidate for San Diego Superior Court Judge; John Franklin, candidate for San Diego Board of Supervisors
With the 2026 California Primary Election on Tuesday, June 2nd, ballots were mailed out in early May. Please attend the CRWF May 26th meet; ng to be better informed when you vote!
CRWF’s May 26th luncheon will be held at the Holiday Inn, 2725 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the program begins at 11:00 a.m.Cost is $44 for CRWF members/$49 for non-members. Looking for a Mother’s Day outing that feels relaxed, creative and distinctly North County? The 29th Annual Mother’s Day Weekend Art, Garden &amp; Studio Tour returns Saturday and Sunday, May 9 and 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Hosted by the nonprofit San Dieguito Art Guild, this beloved self-guided driving tour invites visitors inside eight private homes across North San Diego County — each offering a blend of art, architecture and distinctive gardens.
More than 30 Guild artists will exhibit and sell their work throughout the properties, including paintings, ceramics, glass, gourd art, fiber arts, photography and jewelry. Artists are stationed throughout the gardens, creating an open-air gallery experience where guests can meet makers, ask questions and purchase directly. Complimentary refreshments will be served at every stop.
Each home offers its own personality and setting. This year’s tour includes properties featuring a pool with a rocky waterfall and sweeping canyon views; dramatic subtropical and desert landscaping; a front yard devoted entirely to succulents; kinetic metal and mosaic yard art; multiple water features; and even resident goats (guests are welcome to greet them, but not touch or feed). Another stop showcases seventeen fruit trees alongside vibrant proteas and exotic succulents, while a coastal home offers a laid-back garden with a soothing fountain and brick fire pit.
Tickets are valid both days, and guests are welcome to revisit favorite homes. Many attendees make it an annual tradition — gathering mothers, daughters and friends for a leisurely weekend of beauty, creativity and connection.
The tour serves as the Guild’s primary fundraiser of the year. Proceeds support the Guild’s mission to promote artistic understanding and foster artistic growth within the community through education and outreach. A portion of net proceeds will be awarded to visual arts education programs. One featured home will also host TERi Inc., a nonprofit organization that supports individuals with special needs. TERi clients create and sell original artwork, with proceeds benefiting their programs and teachers.
Tickets are $40 per person and go on sale in early April. They may be purchased at Off Track Gallery (937 South Coast Highway 101, Suite C-103, Encinitas), online at SanDieguitoArtGuild.com, or at any tour home during the event. Well-behaved children 17 and under are free.

<ul><li>It’s an old-fashioned carnival at Pine Avenue Park with activities for the young and young at heart.</li><li>Test your game skills in Can-Knock-Down, Ring Toss, Frog Hopper, and more.</li><li>Enjoy crafts, face painting, and a Fun Zone.</li><li>Build your own sundae at the ice cream bar and vote on your favorite car in the classic car show.</li><li>Enjoy live music covering decades of sounds.</li><li>Carnival tickets, food, and drinks are available for purchase at the event.</li></ul>
<h3>How to enter your car</h3>
Cars are eligible to win in only one category. <a href="https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=u1KgraCvqEy5TX_aFDQ_8_71cmjrFKBEnr8K6s9lqO9URDUzWVk4UE5PMlQ2WTFGOUNBRTVHSzVGNy4u" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Entries</a> will be limited to automobiles 25 years old or older, no buses or semi-trailer rigs. All participants will receive an event collectors dash plate.
Awards will be given out in 11 categories:

There is a maximum of 30 cars for this event.&nbsp;Entries&nbsp;will be taken in the order received.&nbsp;
Entries must be received no later than Thursday, May 7, 2026.
