Carlsbad Educational Foundation Gala Raises $300K For Local Students

CARLSBAD, CA — The Carlsbad Educational Foundation raised more than $300,000 during its annual Gala for Students, the organization recently announced.

The gala at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa commemorated the foundation's 40th anniversary and celebrated the educational opportunities and resources the organization helps fund to support students in Carlsbad Unified School District. The funds raised at the May 20 gala will support more than 40 programs in music, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), and educational innovation both inside and outside of the classroom, according to the Carlsbad Educational Foundation.

"We are immensely grateful for the support we have received from our community over the past 40 years," Carlsbad Educational Foundation CEO Laura Pitts said in a statement. "The Gala for Students was the perfect occasion to celebrate the milestones we have achieved, the tremendous amount of community support that helped us get here, and our founding board members, whose vision and leadership have been instrumental in making CEF what it is today."
