Carlsbad High Kids Join North County Theatre Co. For 'Into The Woods Jr.'

Carlsbad High School Students Elle Dodaro (Baker’s Wife), Spencer Skelly (Cinderella’s Prince Charming) and Erin Slane (Stepmother), along with 20 other actors from neighboring north county schools, are rehearsing and polishing up for the upcoming production of Into The Woods Jr. for the Oceanside Theatre Company Youth Academy.

This production is the culmination of an 8 week long, vigorous Advanced Actor’s Workshop. All 22 students ranging from age 12 to 17 had to first audition for a spot in the workshop and production program. Students trained in the fundamentals of acting but also advanced elements such as mask work, effort shapes, script and character analysis as well as set construction followed by play rehearsal.

Under the direction of Youth Academy Director, Deborah Dodaro, the actors will apply their skills and talents in Sondheim and Lapine’s charming and witty musical, Into The Woods Junior.

Into The Woods Jr. will run for only 4 performances at The Sunshine Brooks Theater on April 24th & 25th at 7pm. And April 25th and 26th at 2pm. All tickets $12. Tickets are available online: Oceansidetheatre.org and at the door. #Oceanside
