Carlsbad Residents Jennifer Dawson and Debbie Spence-Nasim competed at the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships in Umag
Dawson competed for the Women's 40-and-over Young Cup, while Spence-Nasim participated in the Women's 45-and-over Margaret Court Cup.

Two Carlsbad, Calif. residents, Jennifer Dawson and Debbie Spence-Nasim competed at the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships in Umag, Croatia. Dawson competed for the Women’s 40-and-over Young Cup, while Spence-Nasim participated in the Women’s 45-and-over Margaret Court Cup. Both teams finished in sixth place in their respective competitions for the Cup.
Six American teams took part in the event. The 24 players were competing for six Cups in the 35 to 45-and-over equivalent of tennis’ Davis Cup and Fed Cup competitions.
The top U.S. teams in each respective division were the Men’s 45 & Over team, which finished fifth in the Dubler Cup, and the Women’s 35 & Over team, which finished fourth for the Suzanne Lenglen Cup. The ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships is the highest-ranked event on the ITF Seniors Circuit for male and female players in the age categories of 35-45.
