LenaAnn works as an Instructional Assistant-Special Education Behavioral Intervention Aide at Calavera Hills Middle School and was nominated by Calavera Hills Middle School teacher, Sunny Randel, and School Psychologist, Lorraine Behr-Formaz.

Lena has been employed as a paraeducator/behavior interventionist in the SEAS (Social Emotional Academic Support) program at Calavera Hills Middle School for the past seven or more school years.

Lena’s work with our special needs students, all of whom are identified with significant behavioral, emotional, and social deficits, is exceptional. Lena performs her duties in exemplary fashion. Lena provides behavioral, social-emotional, and academic assistance to students with extremely challenging behaviors. In this capacity, she demonstrates the intelligence and innate ability to provide help when necessary, but also understands when and how to back off and allow the students to become as independent as possible.

Lena has a confident and calm demeanor when communicating with others, and maintains a professional image at all times. She is highly organized and dependable, and she goes over and above the call of duty. She takes pride in the academic and social accomplishments of our students, and she is highly respected and loved by all who have the pleasure of working with her!

Lena’s support and genuine kindness and concern for others, especially our students, makes such a difference each day. She has readily earned our utmost admiration, respect and gratitude!
