CHS's Rick Brown Named Teacher of the Year

He is now a finalist in the San Diego County Teacher of the Year honors later this year.

Woodshop teacher Rick Brown has been named the District’s 2011-12 Teacher of the Year.

The Teacher of the Year selection process is rigorous and comprehensive. A committee led by Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Torrie Norton visited the finalists’ sites to conduct classroom observations and teacher interviews.

Norton states, “The selection process is always challenging, as we are fortunate to have a cadre of inspiring, dedicated educators, K-12. Each site’s Teacher of the Year demonstrates exceptional professional skills and personal traits. This year’s best of the best is Rick Brown.”
