CUSD Welcomes Students Back To School

CUSD is ready for the arrival of students tomorrow. Here’s a glimpse at what CUSD teachers have been up to this week:

Strengths Make the World Go ‘Round - Ed Hidalgo, senior director of staffing for Qualcomm, spoke about “Exploring Innovation, The World of Work and Our Strengths,” guiding teachers to develop their strengths and those of their students through awareness, development, and application.

Unstoppable Learning - Dr. Doug Fisher, inspiring professor of educational leadership at San Diego State, shared his systems approach to teaching and learning.

Mano a Mano and the English Language Learner - Dr. Beatriz Villarreal shared her wisdom on how teachers can stimulate success in school for English-learning students.

Calavera Hills Middle School coded and created at Qualcomm’s Thinkabit Lab.

Additionally, teachers participated in sessions on more than 40 topics. They have been working in teams to dig deeper into the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), learning to use Google tools to support classroom instruction, and collaborating with their colleagues to roll out a new Math program.
