Discovery Isle Preschool Students Raise $800+ for Casa de Amparo
Students held a silent auction to benefit children in need through Casa de Amparo
Students at Discovery Isle Preschool in Carlsbad recently held a silent auction and raised more than $800 to benefit Casa de Amparo, a local nonprofit that provides support to abused and neglected children. Throughout the summer, students donated items, including art supplies, cooking tools, snacks and more to create a variety of themed gift baskets, which were auctioned to students, teachers and parents. At the close of the fundraiser, students presented a large check to a representative from the organization. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of helping children in need.
Casa de Amparo is recognized as a leader in treating and preventing child abuse and neglect in San Diego County and beyond, with locations in Oceanside and San Marcos. The nonprofit organization annually serves over 1,000 Casa Kids, from prenatal to 25 years old, as well as over 950 families, through five integrated programs that promote healing, growth and healthy relationships.
