Driver Killed In I-5 Crash In North County ID'd
Deshon Johnson, 21, of Inglewood died at the scene, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A driver killed in a crash over the weekend in northern San Diego County was identified Wednesday.
Deshon Johnson, 21, of Inglewood was driving a SUV on northbound Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
For unknown reasons, the SUV went off the roadway, struck a tree on the shoulder, and overturned while continuing down an embankment before landing on the roof of a drainage ditch on the Marine Corps base, the Medical Examiner's Office said. Johnson died at the scene.

The two passengers — a 3-year-old girl and a 26-year-old woman — were taken to hospitals to be treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, according to the California Highway Patrol. The passengers were from Riverdale, Georgia.
