Earthquake Shakes Off Coast Of San Diego's North County
The small quake was reported early Tuesday morning. Did you feel it?
SAN DIEGO, CA — A small earthquake was reported off the coast of San Diego County early Tuesday morning.
The magnitude-3.0 quake struck at 1:29 a.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered 28.4 miles east-northeast of San Clemente Island, 34 miles west-southwest of Carlsbad, and 36.6 miles west-southwest of Oceanside. It was reported about a half-mile deep.
A few residents reported feeling the quake in Escondido and San Diego, according to the USGS's "Did You Feel It?" map.
