
Local non-profit Cardiovascular Disease Foundation will announces that its 9th Annual Run/Walk for Life®
and Free Community Health Fair, which started in 2003 at Magee Park but quickly outgrew the location, will be held this year at Seaport Village Embarcadero Marina Park North in San Diego.
This fun, family-friendly event to promote heart-healthy living for people of all ages. It is the local charity's biggest event of the year. Participants have the option to run or walk the scenic pathway of the Embarcadero starting and finishing at the park. Event check-in for everyone begins at 8 am. The entry fee for adults is only $20 if paid before March 15 and $25 after March 15. Active duty military, fire and police and their families pay $15 and children 12 and under are free. All registrants receive the new 2012 Run/Walk Tee-shirt. Online registration is available at www.WalkForLife.us .

The Community Health Fair from 8 am to 1 pm is free for everyone to enjoy. There will be over 40 health service exhibitors, free food and health screenings, bands and live entertainment, kids’ zone, face painting, prizes and more. Complimentary health screenings such as blood sugar, blood pressure and body fat checks will be offered by the Cardiovascular Disease Foundation® (for accurate readings, please remember to fast 12 hours before receiving cholesterol or blood sugar screenings).
