As part of Carlsbad Reads Together, Carlsbad City Library will hold “A Look Behind Iron River,” a panel discussion to explore the themes of the book "Iron River."Dr. Vivienne Bennett, professor of Border Studies at Cal State University San Marcos, will moderate. Panelists include Dr. Nathan Jones, adjunct professor at University of San Diego, and Jose Luis Jiménez, social media/Web editor of KPBS’ Fronteras Desk. Dr. Jones is a trusted media source on issues of violence in Mexico with media outlets Los Angeles Times, the San Diego Union-Tribune and KPBS. Jiménez has been a journalist since 1993, and prior to joining KPBS, he worked at the San Diego Union-Tribune covering the border region and Mexico.
