
November is National Adoption Awareness Month, a time set aside each year to raise awareness about adoption. On Saturday, November 12, 2011, HIS Children of San Diego will hold their 3rd Annual Adoption Seminar at the Rock Church in Point Loma, CA.
Heartfelt panel discussions and informational sessions will be offered for those interested in learning more about adoption, foster adopt and Inter-country adoptions. Jeff Detrow, adoptive dad and co-host of the Jeff and Jer Showgram on KyXy will share how his family was blessed by fostering and International adoption. State Assemblyman and San Diego mayoral candidate, Nathan Fletcher will share his experiences as an adoption advocate and a father of two adopted sons. Fletcher authored Assembly Bill 687 which will expand options available to adoptive families and ease the financial burden for those seeking to adopt.
This year His Children will provide interactive sessions for adopted kids (over 8 years old) and their families. Pastor George Clerie from the Rock and Mike Reed, Pastor of Calvary Chapel Oceanside will share their personal experiences and insight about adoption. Adoption therapists and experts from Olive Crest Foster and Adoption Services, Bethany Christian Services, and Adoption Center of San Diego will provide informational sessions.

The event will be held from 8am-3pm Saturday, November 12. Early Bird registration fee, including lunch is $10 per person or $15 per couple. Registrations will be taken at the door on the day of the event. Child care will not be provided, but children ages 8-18 are encouraged to participate and attend.
