The Buena Vista Audubon Society will host a free presentation by renowned author Pat Abbott entitled "Earthquakes and Landslides in Coastal North County." Pat Abbott who has PhD in geology and is a popular professor of geology at SDSU, is also the author of "Natural Disasters" and "The Rise and Fall of San Diego." He will explain how and why earthquakes happen, the patterns and characteristics of earthquakes and landslides, the repercussions of past events and what to expect in the future.
