This weekend, Carlsbad is ditching the “nightmare” on Elm and replacing it with some good ol’ Halloween fun.
Halloween on Elm is this Saturday in the Carlsbad Village. The Village used to be known as Elm Avenue, making it the perfect Halloween avenue for some spooktacular fun and ghoulish goodies.
The City of Carlsbad is hosting the event in partnership with local businesses and community groups, like: Boys and Girls Clubs; Carlsbad Educational Foundation; Carlsbad Country Day School; Kelsall and Associates; Key Club; Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation; Kahoots Pet Store; Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation; Carlsbad Automotive Technology; Knockout Pizzeria; Carlsbad Village Association; and Farmers Insurance.

The day of family festivities includes jump houses, carnival games, costume contests for the kids and for pooches, Halloween crafts and story-telling, live music and even a haunted house. Businesses in the Village will also be passing out candy to trick-or-treaters, providing safe fun for your kids.
The seasonal festivities begin at 2 p.m. this Saturday. The event will go until 7 p.m. and is free. Please take note of the following street closures that day from 8 a.m.-9 p.m.:
