Marine Biologist Nathan Spindel gives an introduction to the critters in the Discovery Center Aquariums and Touch Tank, and the ecological roles they play. Visitors will connect the critters in the tank to the lagoon habitat they can see from the patio. Free!
Nate is a 2004 Alumni of Carlsbad HS and received his bachelors degree in Marine biology form UCSB. He is currently working on an interesting project on ocean acidification.
Additionally you can meet Gary, Lagoon Discovery Center's Garibaldi. Garibaldi's are the official marine state fish of California and are protected in the coastal waters.
