Workshop will take your basic story idea and build it into a strong beginning and outline that can be developed into a book proposal. We will cover plotting and building your novel in three acts. We will also touch on dialogue, building your scene and discuss revision.
Nina is an award winning novelist, playwright, screenwriter and producer. She has authored eleven titles published by HarperCollins Publishers, Stiletto Press and Cleis Press. Her work has received mention in Publisher’s Weekly, Black Enterprise Magazine, Brilliant Magazine, Dallas Morning News, The Chicago Sun Times and The Austin Chronicle and has appeared on numerous best-seller’s list through out the country and she has been a finalist for an Open Book Award several times in both the comedy and erotic fiction categories. Nina Co-authored a non-fiction text on writing and publishing that has been used by several universities, and one of her fiction works has been required reading for college freshman literature courses.
In addition to her fiction work, Nina has written several musical stage plays (along with accompanying music). Marrying up toured the country and starred R & B Crooner Tony Terry. It is now available on DVD. Nina is also a film producer. One of her three feature films has been in competition in prestigious film festivals all over the globe, including Tribeca Film festival, The Rome Film Festival, Dubai International Film festival and Cannes. She has also produced several award-winning short films. She currently has a feature film in development.
In addition to a Ph.D. In Industrial Psychology, Nina holds a MFA in creative writing. She has led numerous workshops on writing and teaches psychology on the college level.
