OCEANSIDE, CA — A duplex received significant damage in a fire that was brought under control by Oceanside Fire Department crews in 25 minutes.
Fire broke out at a residential duplex in the 300 block of Magdalena Drive at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, according to OFD Battalion Chief Wes McGee.
About six minutes after the fire was reported, the first arriving fire engine crew saw heavy smoke and flames engulfing the rear side of the duplex, McGee said. Firefighters cut holes in the roof to let the super-heated gases and smoke out of the structure in order to help inside crews combat the fire.
