Hot Rods And Cool Treats Carnival To Roll Back Into Carlsbad

The classic car show and carnival will take place Saturday at Pine Avenue Community Park.

CARLSBAD, CA — Classic cars will roll into Carlsbad Saturday for the Hot Rods and Cool Treats Carnival.

The classic car show and carnival will feature 30 classic cars from a range of time periods, with awards given to 11 different categories, according to the city. Attendees will be able to vote on their favorite classic car.

There will also be vintage carnival games, an ice cream bar, live music, crafts, face painting and a fun zone. Carnival game tickets and food will be available for purchase, including hot dogs and root beer floats.

"The Hot Rods and Cool Treats is a step back in time with classic cars, classic carnivals games, good music, and a sundae bar," Rachel Shay, the city's special events supervisor, told Patch. "It's the perfect event for the entire family."

Shay noted this is the city's third year hosting the event, which "was created to be intergenerational."

"Grandparents can show off the classic cars of their era to their grandchildren," she said.

About 800 to 1,000 attendees are expected throughout the day, she added.

The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Pine Avenue Community Park at 3333 Harding St.
