International t-MBA students to visit California Including San Diego to learn from local leaders and attend Leadership Business Seminar


 

San Diego, CA: Teenager MBA(t-MBA) students from Turkey will be in San Diego! As part of the Doing What Matters for Jobs and the Economy through California Community Colleges, about 60 high school students from Turkey, along with local high school students from San Diego County will be participating in a Student Business Idea Pitch Competition on May 5th at Junior Achievement’s Headquarters in San Diego.  Pitch it! Judges include: Paul Redfern –Chief Financial Officer, Jessica Barna –Founder/President Meet Me at the Office, Bridget Ayers – Head Visionary at Get Smart Web & Co-Creator of Get Smart WorkSpaces, Ian Campbell – Director of Marketing, and Martin Kleckner III – Senior Vice President/COO - Respiratory Technology Corporation (Restech) / RefluxMD.  The Teen MBA students will also be attending educational tours at companies such as Sempra Energy’s SDGE Innovation Center, Qualcomm and Junior Achievement’s Biz Town during their visit to San Diego.

Additionally, students will attend a Business Leadership seminar on May 6th at the North County Regional Education Center in San Marcos. Guest Speakers include Brandon Moreno, Director of Global Talent Acquisition, Tim Gobran, Global Organization Change Offering Development Lead at Accenture, Bridget Ayers is the Head Visionary at Get Smart Web & Co-Creator of Get Smart WorkSpaces in Carlsbad, and Brian Vitek, the Director for UPS’s Government Sales Division – Department of Defense Sector.

This event has been organized through the binational efforts of t-MBA in Turkey and Joe Molina, the Deputy Sector Navigator for Small Business in San Diego and Imperial Counties, through the Doing What Matters for Jobs and the Economy Program, whose purpose is to respond to the call of our nation, state, and regions to close the skills gap. The t-MBA program provides an educational framework to address the business and entrepreneurship skills of students. The program is based through its high school campuses in Turkey, but also available to all interested schools around the world.
