Flea Market flipper Lacey Mizushima teaches students to turn forgotten treasures into fabulous finds in RE-CREATIONS!, a summer class offered at the Carlsbad Educational Foundation K to 9th Grade Summer Enrichment Program. "Re-purposing has become so popular with shows like Flea Market Flip and American Pickers," says Sandy Haasis, manager of the CEF Summer Enrichment Program. "This class will inspire students to look at things in new and creative ways."
In this fun filled week students will be challenged to creatively makeover home decor, art, fashion and jewelry items using material in the RE-CREATIONS! Workshop as well as treasures students may bring to contribute to the class fun. RE-CREATIONS! will be held July 15th to 19th, 1pm to 4pm daily.
At week's end on Friday, July 19th student will host a RE-CREATIONS! Flea Marketplace at Jefferson Elementary School where creations will be offered for sale to invited friends and family of the enrolled students. Earnings from the marketplace will go to benefit a cause selected by the student crafters.
These are just a few of the 60 summer classes offered June 24- August 2 at the CEF Summer Enrichment Program. For more information and to enroll visit www.CEFAcademy.org, or contact CEF at 760-929-1555.
