Kudos To 9 Carlsbad Schools For 'Healthy Meal' Awards

Nine elementary schools in the Carlsbad Unified School District today received HealthierUS School Challenge Awards from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the healthy changes they have made to school meals.

Jesus Mendoza, Jr., the highest ranking USDA official in the western U.S. region, gave out awards to the school officials. And in addition, each school will also receive a $500 award, according to the USDA.
The ceremony was held this morning at Jefferson Elementary School in Carlsbad.

- Buena Vista Elementary School (Bronze)

- Kelly Elementary School (Bronze)
- Magnolia Elementary School (Bronze)
- Pacific Rim Elementary School (Bronze)
