La Costa Canyon Blanks Carlsbad in League Opener
Mavericks score on their first three possessions in 35-0 romp on Lancers' field.

Isaac Maquet rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns and the La Costa Canyon defense shut down host Carlsbad High during a 35-0 whitewashing in the Avocado West opener for both teams Friday night.
LCC quarterback Jake Sesti carried one in for a TD after Maquet had scored twice, giving the Mavs a 21-0 lead at the half. On defense, Noah May blocked a punt and retuned iy 4 yards for a score in the third quarter.
Cralsbad had its four-game winning streak snapped. Both teams are 4-2 overall.
