Lancers Rout Granite Hills 49-7 in Playoff Opener
Carlsbad to meet Vista in Div. I quarterfinals; LCC will play Westview in Div. II; Army-Navy out in Div. V.

Quarterback Tanner Wrisley threw three touchdown passes and the Carlsbad High defense picked off four Granite Hills passes as the Lancers breezed to a 49-7 victory Friday night in the first round of the San Diego Dection Division I football playoffs.
Carlsbad (7-4) will play at third-seeded Vista (5-5) in Friday's quarterfinals. La Costa Canyon (8-2), which had a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed in the Division II playoffs, will host Westview, which blanked Bonita Vista 48-0 Friday. In Division V, Army-Navy Academy rallied from 27-7 and 37-19 deficits but fell just short, losing at Holtville 37-35 to finish the season at 4-7.
Sam Miller had two of the Lancer interceptions, running back the second 45 yards for a touchdown to cap a 21-point fourth quarter. Mike Dahlquist and Langden Lapp also had picks for Carlsbad, which held Granite Hills (5-6) to 108 total yards.

Wrisley completed 12 of 19 passes for 146 yards, including first-half scorings strikes to Jake Gordon (6 yards), Andrew Proulx (38 yards) and Jordan Perez (12 yards).
Michael Ecija (6 yards) and Constantine Dolkas (1 yard) had touchdown runs for the Lancers, who had 331 yards in total offense and have scored 103 points in their last two games following a pair of losses to Poway and Oceanside in which they scored a combined 13 points.
