Landmark Carlsbad Smokestack: Photos Of The Day

CARLSBAD, CA —Patch reader and Carlsbad resident Allen J. Manzano captured these photos from October 2020 through April 2021 of the city's iconic 400-foot-tall smokestack before, during and after it was demolished.
"I have twice made a landscape painting of it and have photographed it often over the years," said Manzano, whose home looked across the lagoon toward the power plant. "I am sorry to see its chimney come down, a landmark and a navigation guide that was for a long time the tallest structure in the county."
